Panaz Case Study
A flame-retardant fabric manufacturer, Panaz is a multinational Lancashire top 19 company with multiple awards for enterprise and innovation respectively. They promote and sustain good values in their industry including charitable upkeep of industry-wide charities.
The project specification for this was done by their head of design and encompassed a vision for the website. The primary objective was to create an eye-catching and visionary design, promoting the Panaz brand. The technological requirement was for a database, maintained by a custom administration system that is promoted through highly visible Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) from the content.
The result is a very well-formed and highly desirable website powered by a next-generation web application still inuse today. The website became so popular that it had a viable return on investment and was routinely mentioned by customers. A very solid project to have in any portfolio.

Panaz notably are a very good client to have not only for their business connections but also because they have an in-house design team. Working with them, Panaz were able to provide some sample imagery which formed the basis of the design for the 4 themes created.
Result
The result is a very well-formed and highly desirable website powered by a next-generation web application, which has since been redeveloped to form the pinnacle of web administration systems created by Youds Media Limited. The website became so popular that it had a reported viable return on investment and was routinely mentioned by customers.
Design
In order to satisfy the different modes of operation the company operates under multiple themes were produced as seen below. The width of the website is fixed but the background takes centre stage with a background repeat that fills the additional space around the website. The imagery below was created in-house from various collections that Panaz had as product imagery at the time. Today the artwork is very retro however it still does look nice to the eye.
Moving Imagery
In order to fully accentuate the vast archive of imagery available on the website, Flash was used to create moving imagery rendering various camera-like motions. Multiple files are used throughout the website, as seen on each page respectively.
Administration
The website supports multiple forms of customer interaction, including the ability to write a message to the contact details for their country or register to request samples.
Register
This is the Register Form for the Panaz website. It asks the user for basic information that is stored in a database and used for Sampling requests. Once this information is entered in, it is retrieved whenever is required.
Contact Form
Essential part of any website, this form submits information directly through to the Panaz Team. It displays information inside a standard email template.
Internationalisation
The website supports internationalisation, with the entire copy-content supporting the ability to transform into other languages ad-hoc. This was required in order to support the companies global operations.Web Portfolio

A single page Web site was created to offer the information in one place without requiring additional pages of content.

Craig Meadows wanted an online presence that ranked well in Google and gave customers the opportunity to get in touch via any of the usual methods or by an online contact form. This is a standard type of Web site that allows people to easily get an overview of what the companies services are and the essential information required to get in touch. After the initial approach, the Web site content was outsourced and published in less than a week.
CG Surveying Limited

The CG Surveying Limited Web site is designed to provide a means of generating sales through an online purchasing system with 3D Secure Payment Processing technology from Visa and MasterCard. The Web site takes orders on behalf of CG Surveying Limited through an automated online purchasing system, through which the customer is registered to the Web site, essential information stored and used the next time they visit the Web site. Payments are taken via a typical Merchant Account with a Card Holder Not Present transaction ability. CG Surveying used Streamline™, a Natwest subsidiary, with integrated Payment Processing Technology from Sage Pay. All of their accounts are integrated with the popular Sage Accounting products, with absolutely no additional accounting software required. The Web site takes orders all year round and provides a vital source of income for the company.
PhotoPanorama

The Photo Panorama web site has been in operation for a number of years and over time the content has grown and grown. As such, the main purpose of the specification was to implement a content management system which would make life easier for PhotoPanorama, without changing the site design or theme as well as implementing some neat features that make the site more appealing to users.
Peak Surveys Limited

Peak Surveys wanted to maintain the theme created for their Email Stationary on the company's web page. This was achieved by extracting the main focal points of the email stationary and integrating them into a unique design specifically for Peak Surveys. The contact form found at the bottom left hand corner of the Web site uses the Peak Surveys email stationary to send one email to the Peak Surveys staff and another email directly to the user.
PTT Installations Limited

The PTT Installations Web site is intended to be viewed by 6 or 7 people. The specification was to redesign the existing Web site from Flash with the intention of updating the images. This involved removing the Flash content from the Web site and converting the content into a browser compatible format. A professional photographer was used to take the pictures for the Web site, on site.

Web site displays an overview of their product range & offers a latest news section where the latest in fire system technology is displayed. News system links dynamically to the site map giving a complete overview of all sections of the web site.

Logo design created on behalf of GlobalCom (UK) Ltd with a 3D effect.
Logo depicts the business name with a bespoke identity theme and icon. Colours were used as part of a new look and feel for the company.

Flyer design created for publication in a directory listing specialised for the telecoms industry.
Text was taken from an existing piece of marketing material and put together as seen in the finished article.
Peak Surveys Limited

Email stationary designed for Peak Surveys Ltd. An optional hand written signature is included at the bottom of each email along with a legal disclaimer provided by Youds Media.
Compatible with Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Express and once installed the email stationary Email stationary can then be used whenever the customer clicks on "New Mail" - as they would with any other email message.
Sunflowers Pre-School

A4 Flyer with a single fold design for Sunflowers Pre School in Whalley, intended for use in approaching companies in the local area who may be interested in the child care services provided by Sunflowers.
The specification was to adequately demonstrate the companies assets in pictorial format. Images were supplied by the customer in high quality format giving much more room for an artistic license. The design & theme has been developed on behalf of Sunflowers with a view to highlight the selling points of the pre school.
